Figures To Look Forward In 2014

Not only that I'll be on the watch for these guys but I'm gonna have them! This requires a lot of saving up and also some sacrifice (i.e. not ordering too much take-out meals). With these photos I'm presenting, it looked like there will be a new family that's going to join Combo's collection. Next year, we get to see some S.H. Figuarts action figures that will compete with my Marvel Legends and NECA figures. Excited?! Yes I am.

Nasty or Nice?

Santa Claus needs your help! He got four guys on his list that are, for some reason, extremely cool and radical but potentially ruthless and violent, and may destroy the Holiday spirit. It's probably been a week now that he still haven't decided whether he should come by their chimneys or not. Why can't it just be between a hero and a villain? Why these guys?!

Well... that's because the theme for this month of December are anti-heroes and guys with debatable reputations. Here are the four "Nasty or Nice Candidates", and sorry Santa, but you said you're checking us all... right?

1. Deadpool - he is arguably the world's most infamous anti-hero. He probably loves the Holidays like he loves his guns, grenades, his C4 explosive death traps, and his variety of knives and other shiny things that the law had prohibited you of. Among those shiny things is money! He should be called the merc with a mouth and money inside the head. His allegiance can't be determined but Deadpool can work for the good... that is if the benefits are good.

2. Predator - he is probably what you'll hope for if you get yourself trapped within Xenomorph territory. That saying from the movie might be true: "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". The Predator culture under human perspective may be a bit intense but they are who they are. Predators live by a code; killing only the strong while sparing the weak. Average Joes are more likely at the safer side.

3. Namor - not only that this guy is potentially nasty but he is a prick. An arrogant prick that you don't want yourself to be around with in a house party. The only thing that kept him from turning into a baddie is his infatuation to human women (i.e. Invisible Woman). Without that, this pretty boy can launch an army of fishmen from deep sea and strike fear to those he hates the most.

4. Silver Surfer - he simply got no other choice. You can't blame Norrin for his act by offering himself to the world-devourer just to save his planet from being devoured. As a herald of Galactus, he goes from planet to planet; directing his master to these planets, which his master thought is... food! So if you think that it's cool that we're being visited by an alien man dressed in silver spandex on a surfboard, bare in mind that what comes next ain't cool.

DC Comics Cover Girls: Supergirl

With regards to Supergirl's classic outfit, I used to keep asking my buddies- why wear a miniskirt when apparently every pedestrian in the city can see "it" when you're in the air hovering around saving people? Is this just all about style? In my perspective, I believe style need to come with sense. Thanks to modern movies, we are urged to be curious how superheroes came up with such outfits and symbols. I have been waiting for this DC Cover Girls Supergirl statue to show up. I love the way she looks in the New 52 Comic Books, love her even more on resin!

Man of Steel DVD and Blu-Ray, Plus A Figurine

Check out your local Wal-Mart stores to find this incredible Man of Steel Gift Set that comes with a figurine, which suppose to look like Henry Cavill but doesn't look anywhere close to the actor. Still, I like sculpt and everything... not too bad! Unlike The Dark Knight Rises Figurine, this one does not have any articulation. Looks cool when displayed though but I can't wait to re-watch this movie!

Unboxing - 001: Marvel Legends Wolverine

A lot of you may be wondering where I get my action figures. Well to be quite honest, I don't really order them much online. Rather, I go to a local comic book store or a trade show to avoid all that shipping and custom charges.

But there are some good deals you can find online especially when you order them in bulk like these Marvel Wolverine Legends: BAF Puck Series figures that I got at BBTSThis is actually the first time I posted an "unboxing post" cause I thought it might be cool to show you my epic bamboo floor laid with all these amazing looking figures that I'd like to review soon.

I never had these tons of action figures received from a mailed package. With two extra Wolverines and an extra Cyclops and Sabretooth, I am open to trade! Or you can just buy it off from me. Unfortunately, there is no extra Emma Frost for all you guys out there... "I can't give you my Emma Frost!"

I guess they are still up for a deal at Big Bad Toy Store so go check them out. Until then and... happy hunting!

October's The Walking Dead Figures

In a matter of days, streets will be filled with children (and tweens) sporting their baddest and most glorious ghoulish costumes as they will be in for some sweet little treat by an unsuspected Dr. Jekyll-Mr. Hyde in a house or a pack of partying Werewolves on Halloween night.

But my "Halloween night" came early this October! Besides having been excited to watch the premier episode, I had several Walking Dead figures I invited into my sanctuary that came out on retail like three or four weeks ago.

I suppose you've already met Rick Grimes, the sort of "Optimus Prime" in the pack that I reviewed week 1 of this month. Daryl Dixon, the ultimate badass zombie-killer- no question. Followed by his brother, the eccentric Merle, who taught us that being amputated and disabled could never stop you from fighting... or torturing for that matter. Of course, we got the one and only femme fatale of the group, Andrea who sadly was already digging her own grave in Season 3.

"The Last Samurai" (as per Daryl), Michonne also looked awesome in this action figure, which I reviewed like months ago. Though not a part of this October's Walking Dead feature, but I gotta include her.

If you're thinking about costume ideas for Halloween, why not dress up like one of these guys or something like a zombie. Anyways, just check out my blog, Combollector's Action Figure Collection which strictly features all action figures that I've collected. Until then and may you have an exciting Trick o' Treating this Halloween!

The Amazing Spider-Man Legends In Spring 2014

Next year in spring, Hasbro will release yet another batch of action figure movie tie-ins. We've all seen how successful the Iron Man Legends was this past couple of months and I got every single figure in that wave. We'll then get the Wolverine Legends this month of October and now this for the Amazing Spider-Man movie, which is something for collectors and fans to look forward to. With its interesting choice of characters and an interesting choice of BAF figure, I think I would finally get a more classic (or standard) and a much cleaner look of a Spider-Man action figure that I'm going to keep.

Now here we have it: Spider-Man (from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Movie), Superior Spider-Man, Carnage, Blackcat, Beetle, Electro (from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Movie), and Ultimate Green Goblin (as the Build-A-Figure).

Ultimate Green Goblin (Build-A-Figure)

So apparently, this Ultimate Green Goblin uses the Marvel Legends Avengers Hulk body mold with the same skin colour and torn pants, which I'm not too impressed with even with the added feature but, oh well, we'll still have to find out. Otherwise, I'm very excited to get the rest of the figures.

Fan Event Attendance - 005: Hamilton Brought Me Back To The Future

At the Hammer Town Comic Con 2013 event, past met present! This is how I remember what the DeLorean Time Machine looked like when I saw the movie on VHS 20 years ago, and last Saturday (October the 5th) was a dream come true for me to see an actual replica of one of Hollywood's iconic vehicles. It got the Flux Capacitor, Mr. Fusion, control boards, computer and everything, and it is drawing a lot of people. Having to drive only 8 minutes from home, I was very happy that they had this gorgeous car in Hamilton.

Power Morpher In Diecast

It takes a whole lot of teen spirit (teen with an attitude as we speak) and a source of power, the Power Morpher to be a true Power Ranger! This Toys R Us Exclusive item gets the ultimate revamp with its silvery diecast metal and an accurate rendition of the Morpher in that late 90's TV series. Tell you, the diecast composing this Morpher gives this famous Power Ranger piece a bit amount of weight. It is quite heavy and that the coins could hurt you if you accidentally drop it hitting your toes.

Well actually, the true power of this Power Morpher comes from these two LR44 batteries.

Now here is a video of how to play this thing.

Tekken Bishoujo: Alisa Bosconovitch

Don't let her pretty darn eyes along with her pretty darn dress deceive you. This killer-android can deliver a more effective killing blow than a T-800 (Terminator) with a gatling gun. With only a few of her sold in stores, this rare and quite pricey Alisa Bosconovitch Limited Edition Statue by Kotobukiya boost herself through in pink from the classic purple one. And with her jet-thrusters sprouting and making a blast effect behind her, there is more in her than just this silly little young lady in high stockings and prom clothes.

Precautionary Product Info says- "Highly Explosive."
